Phantom of the Opera
Silent Film with Live Music
Michael Kissinger, Conductor
Bravo! Chorale, Chamber Orchestra
Performing silent film with live orchestra is almost a lost art - and a unique experience worth hearing and watching in our hyper technical 21st century world.
This year we present the 1925 silent film, The Phantom of the Opera, adapted from Gaston Leroux's 1910 novel Le Fantôme de l'Opéra. With original music by Canadian composer Andrew Downing, this silent film is “brought to life” with live choir and chamber ensemble – and sound effects provided by you, the audience! Join the Bravo! Chorale and Chamber Ensemble as we present the Northwest Premiere of this classic film!

Christmas Oratorio - by J.S. Bach
La Fiesta de la Posada - by Dave Brubeck
Dr. Maria Manzo, Conductor
Bravo! Chorale, Chamber Orchestra, Mariacchi Band
Our Holiday concert features two versions of the Christmas story: J.S. Bach’s Christmas Oratorio and La Fiesta de la Posada by American composer Dave Brubeck. Composed in 1734, Bach’s Christmas masterpiece for choir, soloists and strings is considered Germany’s equivalent to George Handel’s English Messiah. Composed in 1975, Brubeck’s La Fiesta de La Posada is a vibrant pageant for choir, children's choir, and mariachi orchestra. It celebrates the Christmas story through Latin rhythms, folk music, and Brubeck's unique jazz style. The finale is the breaking of a Christmas piñata!
