​Bravo! Concerts Northwest presents LIVE concerts in Portland Oregon and concerts in Vancouver of classical, jazz, sacred, pop and chamber music. It features one of the best choirs in Portland.

The Bravo! Northwest Chamber Choir – is a select choral group ranging in size from 10-30 singers, founded by Dr. Maria Manzo.  The Choir has performed with Melissa Manchester, Duke Ellington School of the Arts Jazz Orchestra, Portland Opera Young Artists, Seattle Jazz Singers, the 56th US Army Band, and has performed in Italy, Croatia, Bosnia-Hercegovina, Washington DC, New York City, Oregon, and Washington.

Michael Kissinger – is a classical and jazz clarinetist, composer, and producer.  He is Artistic Director of the Vancouver Wine & Jazz Festival.  GRAMMY-winning jazz singer Diane Schuur says: “Michael is the best clarinetist I have ever worked with, and I’ve heard them all!”

The Northwest Chamber Orchestra – is comprised of the best freelance orchestra musicians in the Portland metro region, many of whom perform with groups ranging from the Oregon Symphony & Portland Opera to Portland Cello Project, Pink Martini, and other bands in Oregon and Washington.

Pianist & Conductor Maria Manzo – has performed with groups ranging in style from the Brubeck Brothers Jazz Quartet, Oregon String Quartet, and Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra.  She is Founder of Bravo! Concerts Northwest and Director of the Bravo! Northwest Chorale.

Our purpose for this concert is:

  • ​to gather COMMUNITY together.
  • to bring the JOY of seasonal music to our audience.
  • to share the HOPE of Christ in this Advent and Christmas season.

CONCERT ATTENDANCE COVID PROTOCOLS

We are not requiring masks for attending this concert, in alignment with Oregon and Washington state COVID policies.  Face masks are not required and there are no restrictions for indoor or outdoor events and locations as of Sunday, March 20th, 2022.


In addition, COVID-19 vaccine proof is no longer a condition of entry as of Sunday, March 20th, 2022.


The Oregon Health Authority still recommends masking for people at higher risk from COVID-19, including unvaccinated people and immunocompromised people.  Therefore, if you desire to wear a face mask at this concert, you are most welcome to do so.


We will continue to monitor State, and local guidance to update our policies as needed.

The Ne Plus Ultra Jass Orchestra – Under the leadership of Sammuel Murry-Hawkins, this ensemble specializes in early jazz, and transports audiences to the roaring 20s and Depression era 30s and the golden age of Hot Jazz and Sweet Dance Music, specializing in the tunes of Cab Calloway, Irving Berlin, Duke Ellington, and George Gershwin.

A Northwest Christmas II

Blues Guitarist Norman Sylvester – was influenced by hearing gospel in church, and blues greats like BB King in his native Bonita, LA.  By the 70s, he was performing with Buddy Guy and Albert Collins.  Norman is an Oregon Music Hall of Fame inductee.
