There is a suggested minimum donation of $75 to attend.  There will also be an opportunity to make an additional contribution at the Benefit.  JAZZ IT UP! is our only annual fundraising event—so even if you cannot attend—we hope you will support Bravo! with a generous contribution.

Jazz legend Toshiko Akiyoshi will perform for us at the Benefit.  You will meet Toshiko, hear her perform a few numbers, and get photos and autographs.  This is an intimate evening of champagne, good food and of course—GREAT MUSIC!


Over the course of a six decade career, pianist, bandleader, and composer-arranger Toshiko Akiyoshi has made a vital contribution to the art of jazz. Born in Manchuria, Akiyoshi moved back to Japan with her parents at the end of World War II.  In the 1970s, she formed the Toshiko Akiyoshi Jazz Orchestra in Los Angeles — which developed into one of the most influential jazz ensembles in the world.  Akiyoshi has recorded 22 albums with the orchestra and has received 14 GRAMMY Award nominations. In 2007 the National Endowment for the Arts recognized her as an American Jazz Master.  She is considered one of the finest jazz pianists in the world.
